COVID-19 and Information for patients

Bunbury Day Hospital continues to provide elective surgery for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, though please be aware that only certain surgeries will proceed (all non-urgent surgeries are being postponed in line with the Prime Minister’s announcement). If your surgeon has booked you for a procedure at the day hospital and there are any changes to your upcoming surgery, your surgeon’s consulting rooms will be in touch with you.

We are working with the WA State Government as part of the WA Disaster management Plan.

The day hospital has implemented a range of additional measures and precautions to protect all patients, staff and visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic, including:

  • Screening patients prior to admission
  • Screening staff
  • Sourcing appropriate protective equipment
  • Limiting visitors to the hospital
  • Screening visitors who do come in to the hospital
  • Additional cleaning and sanitation
  • Non clinical staff are working from home

We ask that you support us in minimising the risk of infection by notifying us prior to your admission if you have:

  • Fever; flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat, runny nose and headaches; difficulty breathing
  • Travelled overseas or interstate and returned to WA in the last 14 days
  • Have been in close contact with a person who is in mandatory self-isolation or has tested positive for COVID-19

If you have any questions about your upcoming visit to Bunbury Day Hospital, or the Covid-19 screening processes, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
