Dr Shahriar Raj Zaman or Raj as he’s most well known as, is an Australian and Internationally trained fully qualified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. He qualified from the University of Western Australia in 2009 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. Following graduation, he pursued several years of surgical training not only in plastic surgery but also in neurosurgery and general surgery, for further experience.
He is Australian board certified, completing the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) Examination in June 2022. Following completion of his training, Dr Zaman pursued further subspecialty training in Seoul, South Korea at the world renowned Asan Medical Centre in complex microsurgical reconstruction. This was under the esteemed tutelage of Professors JP Hong, Peter Suh, John Pak and JW Choi. To put the volume of workload into perspective, Asan Medical Centre is a 3000 bed hospital with 100 operating theatres. After this profound stint in Seoul, Dr Zaman proceeded to seek further training in aesthetic surgery in Sydney, Australia. This was under the auspices of the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, based out of the prestigious Macquarie University. There, Dr Zaman gained valuable experience working with some of the leading breast, body and face aesthetic surgeons in the field.
Dr Zaman is a respected figure in the medical community, recognised for his commitment to education and research. He is a dedicated mentor, imparting his knowledge of anatomy and clinical practices to junior doctors and plastic surgery trainees on a regular basis, nurturing the next generation of medical professionals. His contributions to the field extend beyond the confines of the operating room, as evidenced by his publication record both domestically and internationally. His fellowships internationally and locally are evidence of his desire to continually deliver the very best care for his patients.
Dr Zaman’s expertise has earned him prestigious invitations to present on influential platforms, including notable engagements addressing melanoma at Asan Medical Centre. His insightful discourse captivated the entire plastic surgery department, reaffirming his stature as a thought leader in the field.
Dr Zaman’s surgical experience is extensive, and his special interests include:

- Aesthetic breast and body contouring surgery.

Dr Ong is a Western Australian trained specialist surgeon who was raised in the northern suburbs of Perth, studying Medicine at the University of Western Australia. He completed his Fellowship in General Surgery with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2009.
Dr Ong is extensively trained and experienced in oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery in Australia, Europe, and the United Kingdom. Having worked at the Royal Free Hospital and the Harley Street Clinic in London between 2010 and 2012, Dr Ong completed his Fellowship, returning to Australia with his young family, joining the Surgical Department in Bunbury, Western Australia.
Dr Ong performs a number of procedures at Bunbury Day Hospital including:
- General and laparoscopic surgery
- Gallbladder, thyroid and parathyroid surgery
- Hernia repairs
- Endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) services
- Breast augmentation
Teaching medical students and surgical registrars is a passion for Dr Ong who was previously awarded the “Excellence in Surgical Teaching Award for Best Surgical Teacher in Western Australia, 2016”. With Dr Ong’s extensive experience, he specialises in breast conserving cancer surgery and reconstruction for breast cancer patients. He is the lead surgeon at Western Breast Clinic, a bespoke clinic specialising in breast augmentation procedures.
