Dr Lasitha is a general ophthalmologist with a sub specialist interest in cataract and corneal surgery.
Trained initially in Sri Lanka, he achieved First Class Honours, seven distinctions and at Postgraduate level the Gold medal for best performance. Further studies include research and a clinical fellowship in cornea, external eye diseases and refractive surgery in Singapore.
Lasitha is an international accredited trainer for the Asia Cornea Society, has numerous publication in peer reviewed journals and presents at conferences including the International Asia Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Before joining Southwest Eye Surgeons in Bunbury, Dr Lasitha gained his UK and Australian ophthalmology fellowships.

Dr Kang is a Vitreoretinal Surgeon and Ophthalmologist based at Bunbury and Busselton Eye Specialists. Originally from South Korea, he completed his medical degree at Yonsei University—one of Korea’s premier institutions—after attending a private international school. He undertook specialist ophthalmology training at Severance Hospital, which was ranked among the world’s top 40 hospitals by Newsweek in 2024.
Before relocating to Australia, Dr Kang served as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Yonsei University and a faculty member at Severance Eye Hospital. He has an extensive academic background, having authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications and received multiple international awards for his presentations at leading conferences, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the Asia-Pacific Vitreo-Retina Society.
Dr Kang’s clinical expertise spans:

- Uveitis
- Intraocular oncology
- Complex cataract surgery
He is a board-approved full member of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS), Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists (ANZSRS), Korean Retina Society (KRS), and Korean Uveitis Society (KUS).
He currently holds an appointment as Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia Medical School, Rural Clinical School of WA. Dr Kang practices privately at Bunbury and Busselton Eye Specialists and serves as a Visiting Medical Officer at WA Country Health Service, Bunbury Day Hospital, and St John of God Bunbury Hospital.
Drawn to the South West’s natural beauty and relaxed pace, Dr Kang enjoys reading and exploring the region’s tranquil outdoors in his spare time.

Dr Sinclair is a comprehensive General ophthalmologist at Bunbury and Busselton Eye Doctors. He trained in the UK (Royal Free University Hospital, London) and undertook Sub Specialist Registrar training in the Wessex Deanery in the South of England.
Dr Sinclair then completed his Fellowship training in Strabismus and Paediatric Ophthalmology from both Southampton General Hospital (UK) and the Royal Children’s Hospital (Melbourne). In addition, he has Fellowship training in Oculoplastic, Ocular Facial, and Lacrimal Surgery from University Hospital of Wales (Cardiff).
He moved to Bunbury with his family in 2009 and has worked in the South West since then. Dr Sinclair operates on insured patients at SJOG (Bunbury) and Bunbury Day Hospital. For public patients, he operates at Bunbury Hospital and Busselton Health Campus.
When he is not busy with his family, Dr Sinclair enjoys kite surfing, mountain biking, swimming, and the occasional round of golf. He is also an active Rotarian in the Rotary Club of South Bunbury.

Dr Townsend has been a specialist consultant with Bunbury Day Hospital since 2014. Russell sees both insured and uninsured patients with services that include cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, oculoplastic surgery, glaucoma surgery, squint surgery and general and emergency ophthalmic services.
Russell achieved his Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery in 1997 and gained membership to FRANZCO in 2010.
